The First ZAMPEN Open Water Swim Circuit Race was held at Once Islas in Panubigan, east of the City, Sunday morning, February 12, 2023. The following are the participants who won in their respective categories:
2.5 kms
1st – Jeddreauf Marrack
2nd – Henzpazeer Adjilani
3rd – Raisan Mansul
3.5 Kms
1st – Kevin Espina
2nd – Berto Abdulhamid
3rd – Quijoy, 6J Joast
5 Kms
1st – Austin John Hampac
2nd – Jetro Paul Abilla
3rd – Jie Mark Emol
The top nine winners of the different routes bested over 100 other participants from all over the country.
The event is a collaborative effort of the Department of Tourism Region 9, Tourism Promotions Board, Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region 9, Municipal Local Government Units, Zamboanga Open Water Swimming Club and the City Government of Zamboanga through the City Tourism Office.
The remaining 3 parts of the race will be on March 19, 2023 in Buluan Island, Zamboanga Sibugay; April 16, 2023: Lake Maragang, Zamboanga del Sur and May 14, 2023: Dakak Beach Resort, Zamboanga del Norte.
