Zamboanga Reach 100K Mark On COVID 19 Vaccination

Zamboanga City now reached more than 100,000 vaccinated individuals for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) as the city continue to fight the pandemic.

This was revealed by City Health Officer Dr. Dulce Amor D. Miravite for the first dose, 104,764 individuals were vaccinated while second dose 84,566.

For the medical frontliners or A1 category, 15,731 were vaccinated for first dose while 13,682 for second dose. For the senior citizens or A2, 26,967 were vaccinated for first dose while 26,395 for second dose, for A3 persons with comorbidities, 41,528 and second dose 41,500, for A4 or economic frontliners 20,238 got their first dose while 2,956 for second dose and for the A5 or poor families, first dose 300 and 33 second dose.

These individuals were vaccinated in the city’s 49 vaccination sites. Vaccines used were Astrazeneca, Sinovac, Jansen, Sputnik V, Moderna, or Pfizer.

Fully vaccinated means that they already got the two doses of vaccines and 14 days after their second dose.

This data is still moving as the City Health Office is currently vaccinating the A1 to A5 group.

The City’s vaccination program will cover 700,000 individuals to achieve herd immunity. At least 70 percent of the population should have Covid-19 vaccinations in order to have herd immunity.

Vaccination is one of the strategy of the city government to curve Covid 19 cases.

Those 18 years old and above who wanted to be vaccinated may register at their health centers or at zambocovax.com

Currently the city has 12,337 Covid cases, 11,590 recovered, 134 active cases, and 613 deaths as of August 15, 2021.
