Together with the officials of the National Irrigation Administration Region IX and the Office of House Majority Leader Mannix Dalipe, Mayor John Dalipe formally turned over the newly-inaugurated and completed irrigation infrastructure components under the Linduman Small Irrigation Project system Thursday, June 15, at Sitio Linduman in barangay Vitali.
Amounting to ten million pesos, the project, which was initiated by Majority Leader Congressman Mannix Dalipe and implemented by NIA IX, involved the construction of five units ground level reservoir, protection works at the intake structure, and a 4.3 km pipeline installation.
Mayor John thanked the implementing agency of the project for working closely with the Local Government of Zamboanga City as well as the Linduman Irrigators’ Association and farmer beneficiaries in the common goal of building resiliency and establishing food security.
“Prioridad del administracion Dalipe na maga comunidad rural resolva el asuntos de agua y agricultura. En este manera, puede kita asegura el sustenabilidad de trabajo, agua vevir, afordable comida, y desarollo na de aton lejanos comunidad y barrios,” Mayor John said.
The project has service area coverage of 50 hectares of high value crops and is expected to benefit 72 farmers.
