Zamboanga: Mayor John Dalipe joins the Interfaith Council in spearheading the Pagbukah

To show solidarity with the members of the Muslim community, as they observe the Holy month of Ramadhan, Mayor John Dalipe joins the Interfaith Council in spearheading the Pagbukah or breaking of the fast ceremony Wednesday night, April 19, at the Royce Convention, Astoria Hotel.

The pagbukah came 2 days before the celebration of Hariraya Puasa or the culmination of Ramadan Friday, which is declared a national holiday.

Dalipe conveyed his message of solidarity and expressed his desire to further unite all faiths to achieve progress and development.

Members of the Muslim community expressed appreciation to the mayor for the gesture and for hosting the event.

“This occasion can open an opportunity to seek our commonalities and work as one for the good of Zamboanga City,” Amilpasa Bandaying, Interfaith Council Co-chair stated.

Among those present were former councilor and IP leader Datu Abdurahman Nuño and Fr. Lei Taib and numerous others.
