The Ligtas Tigdas – Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR-SIA) 2026 will continue to roll out in the city’s 98 barangays until Sunday, February 15, 2026.
This, as the Department of Health has extended the implementation of the activity health personnel to reach out more children aged 6 to 59 months the opportunity to be vaccinated and be protected from measles and rubella and prevent outbreaks.
The City Health Office (CHO) continues to implement different strategies to include the establishment of fixed and mobile sites, house-to-house visits, and non-selective vaccination including community engagement, and multi-channel communication among others to ensure that no child is left behind.
More or less 90K children are targeted for vaccination under the Ligtas Tigdas MR-SIA in Zamboanga City.
The activity is supported by the Department of Health Regional Office 9 which targes to achieve the 95% vaccination rate for children in Zamboanga Peninsula.
