With the continuous challenges faced by agrarian reform communities in their livelihood, the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Bicol, under the Program Beneficiaries Development Division, together with the Land Bank of the Philippines, strengthened its partnership through the Enhanced Assistance to Restore and Install Sustainable Enterprises (E-ARISE) Program.

In an orientation facilitated by Michelle B. Mendenilla, Account Officer of LBP-Albay Lending Center, today at DAR Regional Office V, Government Center, Legazpi City, she addressed the need to improve farmers’ access to affordable and responsive credit, which remains one of the major challenges faced by agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) and agrarian reform beneficiary organizations (ARBOs).

Aligning with the aspiration, the program was intensified to provide continuous credit support to ARBOs and their ARBs/SFH members whose sources of income and livelihood have been adversely affected by natural calamities, human-made disasters, pests and diseases, viral infections, and outbreaks.

Upholding the initiative’s vision, DAR and LBP believe that by equipping participants with adequate knowledge and resources, they can effectively facilitate access to the E-ARISE Program for eligible ARBOs, particularly those affected by recent typhoons in the region.
