Zamboanga: Gov’t Aid To Recodo Fire Victims Continues

Victims of the Wednesday dawn fire in Purok 3B Recodo get additional relief assistance from the DSWD and City Government, as they remain in temporary shelters set up in the barangay.

Mayor Beng Climaco and DSWD-personnel led by Fatima Caminan and CSWDO staff led by Socorro Rojas Friday afternoon distributed rice, kitchen kits, water gallons and other welfare goods to 523 families earlier assessed and validated by the CSWDO. District 1 Cong Jawo Jimenez and Councilor Pinpin Pareja also joined in the distribution.
Mayor Climaco had tasked the CSWDO to fast track preparation of documents for the release of the financial assistance to the affected families. The Housing and Land Management Division has also been directed to expedite tagging activities for the resettlement of the concerned families.
Meanwhile, the DSWD-9 set up modular tents in the evacuation center.

Recall, that a fire razed to the ground over 300 houses in Recodo, considered as the biggest fire incident since January this year.
