ZAMBOANGA: CITY UNVEILS NEW BOSS BUILDING

    The city government officially unveils its new Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS) building at the Plaza del Pilar, barangay Zone IV Monday morning, January 5, 2026, in line with its move to provide a single, streamlined location for all business registration and renewal transactions.

    The new BOSS facility brings together government agencies under one roof, significantly reducing red tape and making business transactions faster, easier, and more convenient for entrepreneurs, investors, and local business owners.

    The P57.2 million, 1,508.56-square-meter building was undertaken by AEJ Hardware Construction & Enterprises, with the work beginning on January 12, 2024 and completed on November 19, 2025. City employess from the Business Permits and Licensing Division (BPLO), along with other government staff, will manage the facility to ensure immediate assistance for all business clients.

    The inauguration, led by Mayor Khymer Olaso, Vice Mayor Beng Climaco and some members of the City Council, was preceded by the blessing rites led by Pastor Bonus Rector Fr. Jomel Manalo. .

    Following the opening, business owners and clients immediately lined up to access the services, underscoring the building’s role in improving efficiency and accessibility in the city’s business processes.

    BOSS will mostly be operated by the BPLO headed by Benjie Barredo, and other offices including the City Treasurer’s Office, Zoning Administrator’s Office, City Engineer’s Office, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI-9) among others.
