In a move to further strengthen peace and order initiatives, the City Government of Zamboanga under the leadership of Mayor John Dalipe turns over 44 units of Honda ADV motorcycles to the local police and military forces, Monday morning, April 28.
Of the 44 motorcycles, 42 units were turned over to the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) while one unit each was allocated to the Marine Battalion Landing Team (MBLT-1) and Task Force Zamboanga (TFZ).
Each motorcycle is equipped with specialized accessories including sirens, crash guards, blinkers, new batteries and helmets. Each unit also features 160cc engine, automatic V-matic transmission as well as other specifications ideal for rapid patrol response and operations.
The motorcycles cost a total P10.472M, funding of which was taken from the capital outlay of the 2025 Executive Budget, as indicated in the allotment release order dated January 28, 2025.
The turn-over ceremony led by Mayor Dalipe took place at the City Hall grounds, after the flag-raising ceremony and the blessing rites officiated by Fr. Bernie Edayan.
Also present during the ceremony were City Councilors James Siason and VP Elago, Executive Assistant-V William Mariga, ZCPO Director PCOL. Fidel Fortaleza, Jr., LTC Amanodden Paitao (INF) PA and representatives from the ZCPO, MBLT-1, and Task Force Zamboanga and personnel from EMCOR, Inc., the supplier of the motorcycles.
