Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco Salazar has revealed that the city government is planning to use technology for contact tracing when it comes to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19).
The mayor in a virtual press briefing said, the City Planning office together with the Department of Information Communication Technology (DICT) will soon come up with an android base phone application to be used for geo-tagging and contact tracing.
“We will utilize technology to help the contact tracers,” Salazar said.
This is inline of the Test, Trace, and Treat of the national and local government.
According to Salazar, the city will be hiring 300 contact tracers while the Department of Interior and Local Government will hire 600 contact tracers.
Currently, the city has its Covid-19 tracker. All information regarding Covid-19 cases are being placed in the said website bit.ly/covid-zc.
Currently, the city have 1,579 Covid-19 cases with 75 deaths, 1077 recoveries, and 427 active cases.
