Zamboanga: City rolls out special tribute for 19 ‘Service Awardees’

Mayor John Dalipe Thursday morning led a special tribute honoring 19 employees who have served the City Government for 25 years as he expressed his “utmost respect for the steady and loyal service” rendered through the different administrations and leaderships that have passed.

“With the Dalipe administration, I am grateful for your kindness and generosity in teaching and guiding our young administration, and this has only served to make us stronger and more confident in our strides forward, knowing that you are with us,” Dalipe said in his message as he urged them “to lead by example, in transparency and accountability and always, in the spirit of sincere service.”

“Thank you for being part of City Hall and its history. Thank you for always giving your best in your service to Zamboanga City,” he added.

Themed “25 Años y Mas: Dedicacion, Heroismo y Excelencia,” the 25 Years Service Award Program, organized by the City Human Resource and Management Program was highlighted by the distribution of the 14-karat ring to each of the honorees.

The ring is an emblem of the City Government that features the City Hall, the Hola signage and the vinta icon.

Feted were Ofelia Dadule and Jossilyn Dagalea of the Office of the City Accountant; Edgar Agustin of the Office of the City Administrator; Reynerio Marcos of the Office of the City Agriculturist; Arnel Bayot and Criselda Dimalanta of the Office of the City Assessor; Jaime Julian and Mary Rogel Paza of the Office of the City Engineer; Robelin Atilano, Edgardo Sebastian and Eduardo Siano of the Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources; Ronie Pagayonan of the Office of the City General Services; Jonel Alvarez and Ahmad Gumbahali of the Office of the City Health; Emma Jocelyn Serra of the City Social Welfare and Development Officer; Ana Maria Camins, Jose Lacastesantos and Ernie Erle Plagata of the Office of the City Treasurer and Emmanuel Sario of the Office of City Veterinarian.

City Human Resource Management Officer Bovic Lucero congratulated the awardees as they celebrate their 25th year in public service saying that their works and contributions for the welfare of the people will always be remembered.

“Words are not enough to express our gratitude for everything that you have given to the city. Your utmost dedication and perseverance towards your work, your abilities, efforts and commitment and untiring services have helped the success of this organization,” Lucero added.

Meanwhile, the honorees likewise thanked Mayor Dalipe and the City Government for the special tribute saying that the 14-karat ring will be treasured forever and will be a reminder of their loyalty and dedication to public service.

Present during the special tribute held at the CHRMO Conference Room were some department heads and members of the PRAISE Committee.

The program is an annual activity that recognizes employees for their dedicated service and contributions to the City Government. (Sheila Covarrubias)
