Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco Salazar is asking for a possible synchronized and uniform lifting of moratorium for Locally Stranded Individuals or (LSI).
If this is done, the region to include Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi Tawi will be able to work accordingly, Mayor Salazar in a press briefing said.
“Zamboanga City is the entry point, if neighboring borders are close, again passengers will be stranded in Zamboanga.” Salazar said.
The moratorium on the entry of LSI’s in the city started last October 26, and there is no date yet when the city will again receive LSI’s.
This was done to prevent the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019.
City Tourism data showed that a total of 62,684 LSI, Authorized Persons Outside Residence, and Returning Overseas Filipino went home to Zamboanga. (R.G. Antonet A. Go)
