The City Health Officer (CHO) has revealed that Zamboanga City is now in the warning zone as 50 percent of its referal hospital capacity is now being used for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid 19) patients.
Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite, City Health Officer said in a phone interview with RPN Zamboanga, “On the utilization of the hospital beds, we are utilizing 50 percent bed capacity, we are at the warning zone.”
She said, at this time, resources are still adequate however, the city wanted to control the cases.
“We do not want to stress our health system that much,” the city health officer stressed.
Meanwhile, Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) spokesperson, Dr. Justin Paber said ZCMC has 41 beds available for Covid 19 patients and 26 are now being occupied.
The hospital is doing additional works to add more beds to expand it to 104 for Covid 19 patients just in case more cases will be recorded.
Zamboanga City Medical Center is region 9’s Covid 19 referral facility.
Zamboanga City has 594 cases, 301 active, 274 recovered, and 19 deaths. (R.G. Antonet A. Go)
