Apart from dengue surveillance and intensified information campaign, the City Health Office continuously coordinates with affected barangays for the conduct of fogging operations and other dengue prevention measures.
This week, the CHO fogging team conducted operations in the barangays of Guiwan, Boalan, Zone III and Sangali, specifically inside the WMPC plant.
The CHO reported that a total of 2,026 dengue cases were recorded from January 1 to May 14, this year, of which 19 have died, The CHO report disclosed that the total was 1,793 percent higher compared to the same period in 2021 (n=107) and 223% higher from the five-year average of 627 cases, same time period.
The different barangays particularly those with high dengue cases have initiated their own anti-dengue campaign to eliminate dengue-carrier mosquitoes.
