The Zamboanga City Little League Baseball team finished first runner-up in both the 13 under and 12 under categories during the recently concluded Mindanao Qualifying Round held in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.
With this, Zamboanga City will have the opportunity to compete in the Philippine Little League series (national open) set later this year.
The city’s win came more or less 14 years after Zamboanga City became champion in the Palarong Pambansa due to the athletes’ exposure and experiences in the Philippine Baseball series national open in 2010, according to City Sports Director Dr. Cecil Atilano.
