Iriga City – Vice President Leni Robredo has mourned the passing of former Naga City Vice Mayor Steve Abonal.
Robredo described Abonal as one of the well loved public servants in Naga City.
“Just heard the sad news of the passing of Former Judge and Naga City Vice Mayor Steve Abonal,” said the Vice President.
“He was one of the most loved and well respected public servants and was Jesse’s partner for many years in steering Naga to its path to good governance,” she added.
With the demise of Abonal, Robredo said that it signified the “end of an era” for those who knew the beloved public official.
“He joins his wife, Ma’am Yolly, whom we also dearly love, in heaven,” said Robredo.
“Rest in peace. Thank you for your service to our beloved city. We love you. Condolences, Imee Abonal Sb, and the entire family,” she added.
