Nailabas sa mga balita kahapon na ayon kay Rep. Lray Villafuerte ng 2nd District ng Camarines Sur na hindi maaaring tumakbo na Gobernador ng probinsya ng Camarines Sur dahil siya ay taga-Naga.
Kung pagbabasehan ang Section 89 ng Republic Act 305 o Naga City Charter nakasaad dito na “Sec. 89. Participation of voters in provincial elections. – The qualified voters of the City shall not be entitled to vote in any election for the offices of Provincial Governor and Members of the Provincial Board of Camarines Sur: Provided, however, That any of such qualified voters can be a candidate for any provincial office.”
Ibig sabihin ang sinumang na kwalipikadong botante ng lungsod ng Naga ay hindi maaaring bumoto sa anumang posisyon sa ilalim ng probinsya ng Camarines Sur gaya ng Governor, Vice Governor at Board Members; Subalit, datapwat, ang isang kwalipikadong botante ay maaaring kumandidato ng anumang posisyon sa probinsya.
