Various sectoral groups on Wednesday met with Manila Mayor and Presidential candidate Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso to pledge their full support for his presidential bid.

These include the Kapampangans for Isko, Isko Northern Alliance (INA), Seniors para kay Isko, Isko Tayo Kabataan (ITK), and the Cordillera People’s Liberation Army (CPLA), a news statement read.

The Kapampangans for Isko was represented by incumbent Pampanga provincial board members Jun Canlas, Nelson Calara and Benny Jocson who will be running under the Aksyon Demokratiko party in the 2022 elections.

The three Kapampangan leaders were accompanied by Candaba Mayor Rene Maglanque who has earlier took his oath as member of Aksyon Demokratiko.

After taking their oaths, the Pampanga board members bared their plans to barnstorm the Philippines to appeal to their fellow provincial board members across the nation to join what they call the “Isko Bandwagon.”

Meanwhile, representatives of INA, a group composed of respected and prominent personalities in politics, business and civil society in the Northern Philippines, also took their oaths before Moreno.

The prominent Ilocanos include Andrea and Christianna Beroña from Abra; Kalinga Association of Barangay Chairmen President Atty. Henry Tubban Jr.; Atty Gemo Ablan, chief of staff of Apayao Governor Eleonor Bulut; Atty. Rodrigo Kito, former Benguet Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) president; Atty Jose Co, current Bontoc IBP president; Bong Siquian of Isabela; former Santiago City Mayor Joel Miranda; Ricky Fariñas of Ilocos Norte; and former Narvacan, Ilocos Sur Mayor Zuriel.

The INA officers assured Moreno of overwhelming support from northern Luzon provinces that include Abra, Kalinga, Apayao, Benguet, Cagayan, Ifugao, Isabela, Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur.

They also assured him that the only solid about the so-called “Solid North” is their singular yearning for good and inclusive governance, fast action and leadership by example, which Mayor Isko embodies.

The Aksyon Demokratiko standard bearer also met with the founders of the “Seniors Para Kay Isko” Moreno led by John Rana and Edith Fieder.

In their meeting, Mayor Isko highlighted the city government’s drive to alleviate the plight and promote the well-being of its senior citizens since the start of the pandemic, which included the distribution of boxes of “ayuda” and free Covid 19 testing.

Joining the senior citizens were their youth counterparts, the ISKO Tayo Kabataan (ITK) led by Paul Roset and Darwiza and Bonzari Bayan.

Also pledging support for Mayor Isko is Cordillera People’s Liberation Army (CPLA) Chairman Arsenio Humiding from Ifugao.

More groups, local officials and personalities are expected to come out in the coming days to openly declare their support for Mayor Isko’s candidacy and his platform of good, clean, transparent, and inclusive governance, fast, effective and efficient government action and leadership by example.
