Cagayan de Oro City has been chosen as one of nine partner cities of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID’s) ‘Urban Connect’ project, a five-year (2023-2028), P624 million project that aims to promote inclusive and resilient economic growth across the country by enhancing local economic development and improving public service delivery.
The nine partner cities of USAID under its Cities Development Initiative (CDI) are Batangas, Legazpi, and Puerto Princesa in Luzon; Iloilo, Tacloban, and Tagbilaran in Visayas; and Cagayan de Oro, General Santos, and Zamboanga in Mindanao.
Cagayan de Oro City Administrator Atty. Roy Hilario Raagas, who represented Mayor Klarex Uy, joined with DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos, USAID Philippines Mission Chief Ryan Washburn, USAID Urban Connect Chief of Party Dr. Alex Brillantes, Union of Local Authorities of the Phils. President & Quirino Province Governor Dakila “Dax” Cua, ARTA Director General Ernesto Perez, NEDA ASec Ducanes, DILG ASec De Leon and LGU representatives at the launching ceremony held in Crowne Plaza Galleria Ortigas Center, October 26, 2023.
