Unsettled marriage resulted to shooting, victim died

A retired policeman was nabbed in a follow up operation of the police minutes after a shooting incident transpired few meters away from the Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC), Saturday noon, February 13, 2021.

Police Capt. Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office 9 Spokesman claimed, the shooting incident transpired in front a motor parts shop along Veterans Avenue, Saturday noon, when a loon gunman in green hoody jacket approached the victim from behind and shot the victim hitting his arm and back.  The victim identified as Radzkamar Hakim y Muharram, legal age, and native of Maluso, Basilan.

Duco claimed, the victim was with his wife, Myreme Jamili y Radjah, at the said motor parts shop to buy radiator cap for her husbands car, when the incident happened.

The victim was rushed in a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician, Duco said.

Witness and CCTV video showed the suspect boarded a black Honda XRM 125 motorcycle and fled towards Sta. Barbara.  A fired cartridge and one live ammunition was recovered at the crime scene.

In a follow up operations, Police Station commander P/Major Chester N. Natividad led a team at Barangay Sta. Barbara which resulted to the suspect, Abdulmiri Jamili y Asa, 65 years old, widow of Sta. Barbara, a retired PNP.

Further, recovered from his possession and control the one (1) unit cal.45 Armscor bearing serial no. 1427743 with one (1) magazine loaded with five (5) rounds of live ammunitions, one (1) green Giordano hoody jacket and one (1) unit single MC Honda XRM 125 with Temp. Plate No. 090103 with key and with one (1) black helmet.

The suspect is the father of the victim’s wife. Accordingly, Myreme Jamili y Radjah daughter of Abdulmiri Jamili y Asa eloped last 2019 to the victim Radzkamar Hakim y Muharram which resulted to the suspect to get mad and continuously threatening the couple wherein as of this date the said problem was not settled.
