Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte’s Top 1 Sangguniang Bayan Member, Cicero “DonDon” Gurrea was shot dead Wednesday morning, June 19, 2019 as he was driving his Armak jeepney filled with students on his way to Sindangan National Highschool.
Gurrea suffered 3 gunshots on his chest and was pronounced dead on arrival at Sindangan District Hospital. Upon the Sindangan MPS’ initial investigation, they are now in pursuit of two unidentified gunman as the incident happened at around 5:50am at Barangay Piao, Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte.
The Armak he was driving was filled with 20 students and as they were giving their statements, found out that Gurrea tried to control the jeepney to fall into a small canal for the students’ safety and later fell on the steering wheel.
The victim was re-elected for his office on the May 13 polls and known to be a painter and loved by his constituents because of his free ride for students going to school.
His family, friends, and constituents cry for justice for their loss of a good public servant.
