Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez, Butuan City – A team of police officers from Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office (SDN PPO), Agusan del Sur PPO, Regional Intelligence Division (RID) 13 and Regional Highway Patrol Unit (RHPU) 13 have captured the 2 most wanted persons for kidnapping considered as top 6 municipal Level and Violation of RA No. 10883 (Carnapping) tagged as top 6 Provincial level today, February 12.
The suspects were identified as Harvey N. Casas, 28, a resident of San Benito, Surigao del Norte (SDN) was arrested for kidnapping with no bail around 1:00 PM in Brgy. San Mateo, Burgos, SDN and Jovanie A. Duan was nabbed in his residence in P-3, Brgy. Sta. Isabel, Sta. Josefa, Agusan del Sur (ADS) for Violation of RA No. 10883 (Carnapping) with ₱ 200,000.00 bail for his temporary liberty.
POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL ROMEO M. CARAMAT, JR., PNP Caraga Regional Director said the suspects were arrested thru warrants of arrest issued by the local courts.
Casas was the suspect on kidnapping a minor way back in 2012 in Brgy. Abad, Sta. Monica, Surigao del Norte while Duan was responsible in stealing the Honda XRM 125 owned by Jomar R. Aloba on June 12, 2019 in P-7, Guitas, Bunawan Brook, Bunawan, Agusan del Sur. Duan was also facing robbery case with violence against person which filed by Jomar R. Aloba, an employee of Double JVR lending Corp.
RD CARAMAT said that criminals in hiding can run but can never hide from the long arms of justice. “We are as determined as ever to go after criminals who have been eluding arrest for years, decades. Caraga police operatives are not only focused on public safety operations in response to the health crisis but are also continuously mounting and intensifying operations against persons wanted by the law for their crime as directed by the C,PNP General DEBOLD M SINAS,” he added.
