Patient developed fever, cough and back pains thereafter, and was initially admitted for a few days at Siargao District Hospital. On September 18, 2020, patient had episodes of difficulty of breathing, hence transferred to Caraga Regional Hospital. He was swabbed for RT-PCR Testing on September 21, 2020.

Prompt contact tracing of household contacts started last September 20, 2020. All of them are asymptomatic, in isolation, and being monitored for the development of signs and symptoms. Currently, we are also expanding our contact tracing to check for other possible contacts.

We ask the public to remain calm and vigilant, STAY AT HOME, and follow the minimum public health standards set by the Department of Health including the wearing of face mask, frequent hand washing or using alcohol-based hand rub, and practicing social distancing.

Everyone is encouraged to self-monitor for symptoms such as fever, cough, colds, difficulty of breathing, diarrhea, and loss of sense of taste or smell. Please report immediately to any member of the BHERTs, the nurse or midwife assigned in your barangay, or the RHU Hotline.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
