Cagayan de Oro – CITY Vice Mayor Bebot Rodrieguez presided over the regular session of the 20th City Council which highlights the following special reports:
1. Councilor Girlie Balaba regarding the local enforcement of the provisions under Article I of Republic Act No. 11313, otherwise known as An Act Defining Gender-Based Sexual Harassment in Streets, Public Spaces, Online, Workplaces, and Educational or Training Institutions, Providing Protective Measures, and Prescribing Penalties
2. Councilor James Judith about the joint survey of the boundary between Cagayan de Oro City and Bukidnon Province to be conducted by representatives of both local government units together with the DENR
3. Joint special reports of Councilors Ian Mark Nacaya and Romeo Calizo about the water supply in the city; and
4. Councilor Malvern Esparcia about stray dogs and an inquiry on the procedures for anti-rabies vaccination in City Health Office
For yesterday’s session, the following resolutions and ordinances are included in the agenda:
1. Annual Budgets for CY 2024 of Barangay Council of Barangay No. 22, Barangay No. 35, and Barangay Tagpangi
2. Adopting the Order of the Committee on Ethics and Blue Ribbon in BR Case No. 2023-09, dismissing the said case for failure of the complainant to comply with the Order of the Committee to file a verified formal complaint, which is in violation of the Rules under Section 17 (Formal Requirements of a Complaint) of the Committee on Ethics and Blue Ribbon Procedural Rules in Administrative Cases (Resolution No.14330-2022).
3. Adopting the Order of the Committee on Ethics and Blue Ribbon in BR Case No. 2023-11, dismissing the said case for being moot and academic considering that the respondent is no longer a member of the Barangay Council of Mambuaya.
4. Adopting the Order of the Committee on Ethics and Blue Ribbon in BR Case No. 2023-12, dismissing the said case for being moot and academic considering that Respondent Punong Barangay is no longer a member of the Barangay Council of Mambuaya, and for the City Council’s lack of jurisdiction over appointed Respondents Barangay Treasurer and Barangay Secretary.
5. Adopting the Order of the Committee on Ethics and Blue Ribbon on BR Case No. 2023-16, dismissing the said case for being moot and academic considering that the Respondent is no longer a member of the Barangay Council of Bugo.
6. Adopting the Order of the Committee on Ethics and Blue Ribbon on BR Case No. 2023-15, dismissing the said case for being moot and academic considering that the Respondent is no longer a member of the Barangay Council of Bugo.
7. Authorizing the Honorable City Mayor Rolando A. Uy, representing the City Government of Cagayan de Oro, to enter into and sign the Data Use Agreement with the Epimetrics, Inc., covering the collaboration of the parties in the utilization of data sets and sharing of relevant information, in accordance with the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173), National Privacy Commission policy, and other related laws, under the terms and conditions stipulated therein; and
8. Granting exemption from payment of amusement tax to The Xavier Stage of Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan for its sponsored production dubbed: William Shakespeare’s: A Mid-Summer Night’s Dream, from February 28-2024 to March 6, 2024 at the XU Little Theater
