Thailand-based courier and logistics service company Flash Express has entered the Philippine market, with the end goal of becoming a leader in its field.

Flash Express Philippines Shareholder Representative Tony Luo shared how the principal has chosen to penetrate the local market after it expanded to Malaysia.

“Actually we started the market research two years ago. Based on our research and compared to the common industry partners in Malaysia, the Philippines notices better logistics in the e-commerce market,” he told reporters during their recent simultaneous launch both onsite and online. “We have a big coverage here—from online to offline—and then, the e-commerce market continues to rise. So that’s why we are here.”

The company started operating here last August, and since then has made its presence felt with 138 hubs and outlets nationwide manned by around 3,000 employees. It offers door-to-door free pick-up, low cash on delivery rates, fast delivery service, 24/7 customer service, and 365 days operations with no holidays to both business and individual customers.

“Flash Express is definitely ready to serve the Filipinos after months of strategic preparations. In just three months, we were able to make our services available to Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao,” said Flash Express Philippines General Manager John Tarampi.

Since many businesses’ onsite operations were affected by the ensuing health crisis, they can now fast forward and leave their logistics requirements to Flash Express.

“As Filipinos, we didn’t rely on the negative impact of the pandemic, in fact, we recorded a relevant increase in the online business category for the past year. I believe that Flash Express will be of great help to our Filipino MSMEs [micro, small and medium entrepreneurs] who need logistics partners to fulfill their business and to improve the Philippines’ logistics service industry as a whole,” Trade Undersecretary for Consumer Protection Group Ruth Castelo said.

Bullish on the logistics business growth in the country, the company bared its plans for this year and vision for the brand in the near future.

“By end of the year, we hope to further employ 10,000 more. So for our fellow countrymen who need jobs, Flash is here to help you],” Flash Express Philippines Spokesperson and Head of Legal & Compliance Sherry Lou Bernabe said.

Flash Express Philippines Head of Legal Express Operations Niquee Louise Espiritu added that they aim to cap 2021 with at least 300 distribution centers nationwide.

“So that volume speaks of how we have really reached our target at least for this year alone,” she said. “A year from now, given all the projects, given the expansions that we discussed, we see Flash Express becoming a household name for delivery and courier services in the Philippines.”
