Tandag CPS Detainee, Suspect To Hero Cop Killing

Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City – A detainee at Tandag City Police Station (CPS) was found to be one of the suspects in the killing of Patrolman Jennis Mark Encinas last September 28, 2020, in Sitio Paniningkian, Brgy. Buenavista, Tandag City, Surigao del Sur as reported by Tandag police yesterday, March 9.

Police Brigadier General ROMEO M. CARAMAT, JR, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 13, disclosed that Adelaido P. Monderondo, 64 years old, resident of Purok Erap, Brgy. Buenavista, Tandag City, Surigao del Sur, and member of Weakened Guerilla Front Committee 30, Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee, was arrested by personnel of Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office Intelligence Branch operatives and Tandag CPS last November 24, 2020, during the implementation of Search Warrant in his residence where one unit caliber .38 revolver (Smith and Wesson) with five ammunition and a hand grenade were recovered from his possession.

Cases for violation of Republic Act No. 10591 (Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunitions) and Republic Act No. 9516 (Illegal/Unlawful Possession of Explosives) had been filed at Tandag City Prosecutor’s Office against Monderondo thru inquest proceeding docketed under NPS-XIII-II-INQ-20K-00054 dated November 25, 2020.

While the two warrants of arrest issued by the 11th Judicial Region, Regional Trial Court, Branch 40, Tandag City, Surigao del Sur dated dated December 18, 2020 for murder under criminal case no. 8222-20 with no bail recommended and for multiple attempted murder under criminal case no. 8221-20 with Php120,000.00 recommended bail bond were served to him around 1:00 PM yesterday.

“Our Chief of the Philippine National Police, POLICE GENERAL DEBOLD M. SINAS, ordered PNP Caraga to launch aggressive efforts against members and supporters of the Communist Terrorist Group with standing warrants of arrest and are being sought by the law to give the people a safer and more peaceful place to live,” PBGEN CARAMAT, JR said.

Family, friends, and relatives of late Patrolman Encinas have been expressing their appreciation for the efforts being given by PNP Caraga in arresting those CTG members behind his tragic death.
