The #YouthVoteRight Campaign is a youth-led, advocacy centered program of Surigao Youth Convergence aiming to educate the youth electorate on the importance of ethical voting, be aware of their rights and duties as voters and shift the culture towards voting practices of the Filipinos into a more right and humane way.
The program will be conducted in both online and offline covering the whole province of Surigao del Norte targeting specific barangays and municipalities scheduled on a weekend to cater the time of both schooling and non-schooling young people.
Due to the effect of the pandemic, the conduct of the advocacy will be done entirely virtual via zoom. It will be a series of webinars covering topics on the Importance of Youth Vote, Right to suffrage, Voters Education, among others.
The Youth Vote Right Campaign will start in February 2021 and will end weeks before the scheduled election in May 2022.
As a kick start, we will have our first session on the youth vote and the importance of registration process on February 15, 2020 at 2PM via zoom.
For this session, our speaker is the Provincial Election Officer Atty. Alvin Prandy T. Canta to talk about the importance of youth registration and the youth vote.
