The University of the Philippines Los Baños – Interdisciplinary Studies Center for Water was formalized to address water security challenges of the country and sought to generate science-based information for efficient, equitable and sustainable management.
for national development through Interdisciplinary research, responsive policy, partnership and capacity building.
The project is being conducted by the team entitled “Sustainable Water Resources in the Philippines: Hydrogeological Assessment of Del Carmen, Siargao Island (SURPh Siargao Water) that is currently on the 1st phase which will focus on Hydrogeological needs assessment of municipality, funded by the Forest Foundation Philippines.
The meeting was discussed and presented the overview and its expected outputs which was attended by our very own Mayor Hon. Alfredo JR Coro, together with the department heads and representatives from the Local Legislative, Municipal Planning & Development Office, Environment & Natural Resources Office, Health Office, Engineering Office, Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office held Municipal Conference Room.
