Surigao: SurNte joint authorities capture a 31-year-old wanted individual accused of VAWC law charges in Bacuag town

Through a coordinated operation, the 1st Surigao del Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company and Bacuag Municipal Police Station apprehended a 31-year-old wanted individual charged with violating the Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) Act of 2004 (RA 9262) in Purok Saging, Barangay Campo, Bacuag town, yesterday.

Provincial Top Cop, Police Colonel Laudemer M. Laude, identified the accused as a 31-year-old married welder, a resident of Purok 6, Barangay Mahanub, and Gigaquit town.

The joint operatives apprehended the accused around 2:55 p.m. yesterday in Purok Saging Barangay Campo, Bacuag town, by warrant arrest for violation of RA 9262, the Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) Act of 2004, docketed under criminal case no. 17434.

The Regional Trial Court, Branch 30, 10th Judicial Region, Surigao City, Surigao del Norte, issued the warrant of arrest on April 16, 2024, with a recommended bail of PHP 72,000.00.

According to the Gigaquit Crime Information, Reporting, and Analysis System, the accused allegedly committed the offense on December 23, 2023, due to involvement in an extramarital affair.
