A cache of explosives, ammunition and other subversive materials of the North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC) was recovered by Caraga cops yesterday, May 16, in Brgy. Hawilian, Esperanza, Agusan del Sur.

“The recovery happened after a former Supply Officer of Platoon 2, Headquarters Neo (Kaiser), NCMRC who surrendered last November 16, 2021, reported about the location of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) arms cache,” PBGEN PABLO G LABRA II, Director of Police Regional Office 13 said.

An electric blasting cap, an improvised blasting machine, ten pieces dynamite, five improvised tester, a uni-T multi-tester commercial, 230 rounds of caliber 5.56mm ammunition, and six rounds of caliber 7.62mm ammunition were unearthed by the operating troops composed of the personnel from Agusan del Sur Provincial Intelligence Unit, Provincial EOD and Canine Unit, and Provincial Mobile Force Company together with 1304th Regional Mobile Force Company.

Other supplies recovered were several booklets of CTG propaganda, three containers of rice, five keypad cellphones, and other subversive materials.

“This feat will surely result into another setback to the CTG adding to their already increasing losses due to the continuous aggressive efforts of the government. Further, I applaud the courage and bravery of the CTG surrenderer for coming forward and gave us the vital information,” the region’s top cop emphasized.

He also added that the discovery of these explosives was tantamount to foiling the plans of the enemies of the state from committing other atrocities and illegal activities in the region. (RPN DXKS Surigao)
