Surigao: Fight on Battalion welcomes new 30th Infantry Battalion commander

The 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division Commander, Major General Wilbur C Mamawag PA presided over the Change of Command Ceremony of the 30th Infantry (Fight On) Battalion at Headquarters of 30IB, Brgy Mahanub, Gigaquit, Surigao del Norte last June 17, 2022 (Friday).

After two years and one month and almost two weeks of leadership steered by the outgoing Battalion Commander of 30IB, LTCOL. RYAN CHARLES G. CALLANTA has now relinquished the Command to the newly installed Battalion Commander, LTCOL. JEROLD H. JALE during the Change of Command Ceremony. The activity was attended by the IP leaders, media, chief executives of different municipalities, stakeholders, and partners for peace and development in the province of Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Islands.

Lt. Col Ryan Charles G. Callanta, the outgoing commander expressed his gratitude to everyone who supported him throughout his stint as the Commanding Officer of 30IB, especially to the men and women of Fight On troopers.

“Thank you very much! I can’t tell you what honor it is to be standing here today finally arriving and crossing the finish line with my head up high. I could finally say that thanks to God! There are too many persons and individuals I met along the way, and all of them support us in our campaign, I wanted to thank them for supporting and believing in the NTF-ELCAC and to the men and women of 30IB as an important catalyst for peace, progress, and development in the whole province of Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Islands”.

Meanwhile, Lt. Col. Jerold H. Jale, the newly installed Battalion Commander said during his speech, “We will continue the good fight what the Fight On started, we will finish it. We will decisively engage and destroy the remaining CNT members so that these provinces will have a long-lasting peace. And we will actively support our partners from Local Chief Executives and line agencies as they deliver their basic services to our communities”.

Furthermore, Major General Mamawag congratulated LTC Callanta for his remarkable performance of duty and commendable accomplishments to the mission of the Eastern Mindanao Command and the Joint Task Force Diamond while he also challenged the newly installed Commanding Officer LTC Jale to sustain the gains and continue to uphold for excellence in maintaining Peace and Order situation in the provinces of Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Islands and reminds the “Fight On” troopers to extend same support they accorded to their former commander.
