In celebration of Cooperative Month 2023, the Surigao City Cooperative Development Council led the flag-raising ceremony at the City Hall Compound, Surigao City.
The flag-raising ceremony was also attended by different cooperatives of Surigao City and Surigao del Norte, together with Roselyn Armida Merlin, the Livelihood Training and Productivity Center Office In-Charge, and Jeremias Villarosa, CARRECCO President and Chairman of the Surigao City Cooperative Development Council, who conveyed a heartfelt message.
This event holds special significance as it aligns with the provisions of RA No. 11502, designating the entire month of October as the “National Cooperative Month.” This annual celebration pays homage to cooperatives and underscores their pivotal role in propelling the country’s economic growth.
At the forefront of cooperative initiatives in Surigao City, the Surigao City Cooperative Development Council is vital in coordinating and overseeing the implementation of diverse suitable development plans, programs, and projects within the city.
Following the flag-raising ceremony, a motorcade also kicked off the cooperative month celebration.
