The City Government of Surigao was honored as one of the top-performing local government units (LGUs) in Caraga Region during the SubayBAYANI 2024 Awards held at the Grand Palace Hotel in Butuan City on October 25, 2024. The achievement was again recognized during the city’s Flag Raising Ceremony earlier today.
Out of 78 LGUs assessed across Caraga’s provinces, cities, and municipalities, Surigao City earned this recognition from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) for its commitment to transparency and accountability in executing locally funded infrastructure and other DILG-related projects.
Under the leadership of City Mayor Pablo Yves L. Dumlao II and City Vice Mayor Alfonso S. Casurra, Surigao City has continued to prioritize sustainable growth, social welfare, and economic development for its residents.
The award was accepted on behalf of Surigao City by DILG City Director Robert E. Patayon and Acting City Engineer Engr. Genevieve Pontevedra.
This recognition highlights the collaborative efforts of city officials, departments, and the Surigaonon community toward shared progress and responsible governance
