Celebrated every last week of April, World Immunization Week aims to increase awareness and give importance to protecting people from vaccine-preventable diseases.

With the World Health Organization’s call for action, ‘The Big Catch-Up’ Immunization Week 2023 is geared towards accelerating immunization and vaccination against preventable diseases.

Last April 27, 2023, the City Health Office (CHO) led the launching of World Immunization Week in the city as they held various programs in Brgy. Ipil and Brgy. Sukailang.

During the launching, National Immunization Coordinator Catherine Olvis explained the importance of immunization especially for children aged 0-59 months.

The CHO is encouraging all parents to have their children vaccinated and immunized against Polio and Measles-Rubella, Hepatitis B, and other diseases.
