Surigao del Norte police and civilian shooters successfully competed in a two-day match of the ‘2nd PD Laude Marajaw Karajaw Cup 2024,’ a PSMOC Level II sanctioned match dated at the SUPRA Firing Range, Sitio Malico, Barangay Luna, Surigao City.
POLICE COLONEL LAUDEMER M. LAUDE, the Provincial Director, along with City Mayor Hon. Pablo Yves L. Dumlao II; the Regional Director of Police Regional Office 13, PBGEN ALAN M. NAZARRO; the former Regional Director of NAPOLCOM CARAGA, Atty. Johnson G. Reyes, and the PSMOC Zone Director, Ms. ARMI ANTONIO graced the opening of the shooting competition on August 10.
In his message, PBGEN ALAN M. NAZARRO emphasized the importance of enhancing the marksmanship skills of the PNP CARAGA, particularly through mutual learning and emerging from experiences more capable and proficient. He stressed that police officers should know how to handle their issued firearms and continually improve their marksmanship skills.
The two-day competition featured 198 enthusiastic shooters, including civilian competitors and Police Commissioned Officers (PCOs) as well as Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs) from the Regional Headquarters, various Police Provincial Offices (PPOs), City and Municipality Police Stations, and mobile force companies.
The 2nd PD Laude Marajaw Karajaw Cup 2024 was sanctioned by the Philippine Shooters and Match Officers Confederation (PSMOC) and included eight stages with a minimum of 160 rounds.
“This two-day activity showcased not only the exceptional skills and sportsmanship of our shooters and match officers but also our shared commitment to upholding safety, discipline, and excellence within the shooting community of Surigao del Norte. The collaboration and camaraderie witnessed here are a proof to the dedication of all participants,” PD Laude said.
“As responsible gun owners, it is essential to master our weapons with the right values and mindset. Practical shooting, which integrates speed, power, and accuracy, serves as a platform for developing and testing one’s shooting skills.
