The Business Permit and Licensing Office of Surigao City successfully concluded its One-Stop Shop initiative for business licensing on January 20, 2024.
The program started on January 2, 2024, and concluded with a culminating event in partnership with the Surigao Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The event included a raffle and highlighted the significance of the initiative.
Out of the 5,084 existing businesses, an impressive 69% renewed their licenses, and 451 new businesses registered.
A total of 3,505 businesses successfully renewed their licenses, contributing a total of P78,578,304.74, which surpassed the target of P75,000,000.
For businesses that did not participate in the initiative, the Business Permit and Licensing Office is still available to facilitate necessary transactions at the City Hall Main Building Lobby.
During the Flag Raising Ceremony on January 22, 2024, City Mayor Pablo Yves L. Dumlao II expressed his commitment to ensuring that the right amount of taxes is paid for the city. He also guaranteed the business community that the administration would strive to make their money worth it by delivering quality service, building top-notch infrastructure, and procuring high-quality equipment.
The Mayor emphasized that quality means ensuring the right quality at the right price. This year, the city aims to strategically increase its economy and enhance its services, and taxes are essential to achieving these goals.
