Davao City:  The Davao City government made sure that Dabawenyos who are stranded elsewhere in the country are not left out in the government’s help as lockdown rules continue until April 26, 2020.

Mayor Inday Sara Duterte on Wednesday said the city will continue helping Dabawenyos who were not able to travel back to Davao City after the city adopted measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease that include the closure of airports, seaports, and land travels.

Even with the extension of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in Davao Region until April 26, stranded Dabawenyos will still receive assistance from the city.

The extension of the ECQ in Davao Region means the continued prohibition of entry of land, sea and air travel in Davao Region.

With this, Mayor Sara assured that the Davao City government, as well as other governors in Davao Region will not cease to assist affected residents.

“We will continue to send them support for the duration of the Enhanced Community Quarantine,” the mayor said.

According to her, there are a total of 206 stranded Dabawenyos per information gathered from the official social media platforms of the Davao City Government.

The mayor did not divulge the details of the support given to the stranded residents to avoid misinformation and possible fraudulent acts from abusive people.

Stranded Davao City residents may reach out through Davao City Reports hotline numbers 0919 072 2222 and 0917 131 2333 or its official Facebook page or through the Davao City Disaster Radio Facebook Page. CIO
