Bacolod City – A special registration for youth voters in Bacolod City is scheduled at St. Joseph La Salle School on July 16 to avoid crowding at the Commission on Elections office, Councilor Ayesha Villaflor said yesterday.

Villaflor, who is the Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on Youth, SK Affairs and Sports Development chairman, said the registration at SJLS will cater to youth from barangays Villamonte Alangilan, Granada, Montevista, Taculing, 40, and 41.

She said another special registration is scheduled on the second week of August that coincides with the commemoration of the National Youth Day and will be held in Brgy. Felisa. It will cater to young voter registrants from barangays Handumanan and Cabug

Supposedly, another registration for youth was calendared on July 26 but Villaflor said it was cancelled since Comelec will also hold registrations in malls.

SK chairpersons will have an orientation today so they could relay to their constituents the requirements for the Comelec registration.

A pre-registration will be held on Monday although the special youth registration will allow walk-in applicants in case the quota of 300 registrants a day is not reached, Villaflor said.

Meanwhile, the Bacolod Comelec announced that all is set for the voters’ registration tomorrow at the City Mall in Brgy. Mandalagan.

This is already the second mall registration following the activity at SM Mall recently. Comelec scheduled another satellite registration, also at SM, on July 9 and 10.
