Shooting incident transpired at Sitio Kalugusan, Brgy. Pasilmanta, Zamboanga City at 6:00 AM of December 23, 2020. The victim was identified as Omar Bacuak y Aman, 30 years old, male, married, fisherman, resident of Brgy. Pasilmanta, Sacol Island, Zamboanga City.
Recovered from the crime scene were Five (5) empty shells of alleged caliber 45 pistol. Victim sustained gunshot wounds on his chest, back of the head, right hand, left foot and a hacked wound on nape area.
Investigation conducted disclosed that prior to the incident, at about 5:00 AM of even date; victim left his residence at Pasilmanta and headed to Sitio Kalugusan of same Brgy. to pasture his cows. While at the said Sitio, the unidentified suspect shot the victim to death and even hacked his nape area to assure the victim’s death.
Cadaver of the victim was attended by an Imam for interment following the Muslim tradition. Motive of the incident is yet to be determined and suspect as of this report is still unidentified.
Deeper investigation and hot pursuit operation are being conducted by Zamboanga City Police Station 4 for the arrest of the suspect. (PCpt. Edwin A. Duco, Chief Public Information Officer)
