Shooting incident transpired at Sea Waters of Brgy. Labuan, Zamboanga City at about 6:20 AM of August 24, 2020. The victim was identified as Arjikal Tindang Sadikal, 20 years old, male, single, and a resident of Purok 4, Brgy. Labuan, Zamboanga City, who was allegedly shot by an unknown crewman of GMA fishing vessel at Sea Waters of Brgy. in Labuan, Zamboanga City.
Initial investigation conducted disclosed that the victim together with his companion identified as Guram Kairan, male, legal age, and a resident of Purok 4, Brgy. Labuan, Zamboanga City went on fishing onboard their pump boat. Upon reaching at the place of incident, the crew of GMA fishing boat fired a warning shot to drive away the victims and prevent them from entering the fishnet. However, both victims insisted that prompted the crew to fire on them, hitting on his body causing them to leave the place and returned to the shoreline of Barangay Labuan, Zamboanga City.
The victim was rushed by his companion to Labuan Public Hospital for medical treatment. PNP personnel of Zamboanga City Police Station 10 coordinated with the Philippine Coast Guard, Sub-Station in Barangay Labuan in Zamboanga City for the verification of the above-mentioned fishing vessel and other details to form part of the investigation.
