Shooting Incident transpired at Purok 5, Brgy. Gunicolalay, Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur at about 11:40 AM of November 20, 2020. The victim was identified as Adolfo Jumawan Canencia, 37 years old, male, married, fishpond caretaker and a resident of abovementioned place.
Initial Investigation conducted disclosed that prior to the incident, the victim was riding on his motorcycle going to his pastured cow when he was shot several times by unidentified suspects. The victim sustained several gunshot wounds hitting on his head and knee that resulted to his instantaneous death. Suspect fled towards Sitio Baca, Brgy. Nian, Dinas, Zamboanga Del Sur. Motive of the incident is yet to be determined.
Recovered from the crime scene were eight fired cartridge case of Caliber .45 pistol, nine fired cartridge case of caliber 5.56 and eight bullets of caliber of 5.56.
PNP personnel of Dinas Municipal Police Station conducted follow-up investigation for possible identity, locate and arrest of the fleeing suspects. (PCpt. Edwin A. Duco, Chief Public Information Officer)
