THE Philippine Racing Commission (Philracom)-sponsored Philippine Sportswriters Association Cup rounds up three major events on Sunday at the San Lazaro Business and Leisure Park in Carmona, Cavite.
Recent Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) 3-Year-Old Maiden Stakes winner Mommy Caring (Striding Ahead out of On A Mission) is favotred in the event which has a top prize of P300,000.
Challenging her are stakes campaigners Arrabiata, Well Done, Roll Da Dice, Shanghai Silk, Kevlar, Tocque Bell and Luke Skywalker.
The Sunday Showdown will be highlighted by the star-studded Philracom/PCSO-sponsored Silver Cup which carries a total purse of P4 million.
Expected to lead the charge in the 1,750-meter race where the winner banks a P2.4-million top prize are 2021 Philracom Chairman’s Cup champion Boss Emong (Dance City out of Chica Una) from the Edward Vincent Diokno stable and 2021 Commissioners’ Cup winner Super Swerte (Art Moderne out of Faster Tapper) owned by Leonardo “Sandy” Javier Jr.
Also in the fold are 2020 Presidential Gold Cup winner Pangalusian Island of Wilbert Tan (Chancellor/Dimples) and back-to-back Sampaguita Stakes winner Princess Eowyn (Keep Laughing/Dona Carmela).
Also in the race are the comebacking 2017 Presidential Gold Cup Dewey Boulevard, 2019 Juvenile champion Union Bell, recent Hopeful Stakes winners Gusto Mucho and King Tiger, 2019 Philracom Cup winner Wonderland, 2018 Philracom Cup winner Great Wall and Sprint winner Son Also Rises.
