The Provincial Rice Program Report Officers Mobile Meeting was successfully held at the Masuso Function Hall in San Isidro, Iriga City, on Friday, September 6, 2024. The event was spearheaded by the City Government of Iriga, led by Mayor Rex C. Oliva and Vice Mayor Edsel Dimaiwat, in collaboration with the City Agriculturist’s Office.
The meeting, which focused on the progress of the Provincial Rice Program, was organized through the Rice Program Iriga City Coordinator, Ms. Sally Buenaagua, and City Agriculturist, Mr. Arjay Ramirez. Attendees included representatives from various cities and municipalities across Camarines Sur.
The Office of the Provincial Agriculture was represented by Mr. Deboniar Rances, the Provincial Rice Program Representative, and Ms. Paz Saballague. From the Regional Office, Mr. Marcial Bustagara, the Agricultural Provincial Coordinator, was also present to provide guidance and support.
Discussions during the meeting centered on the current status of the rice program, challenges faced by rice farmers, and strategies to improve rice production in the province. The gathering served as an important platform for local and regional stakeholders to coordinate efforts and share best practices. This initiative is part of the broader efforts by the local government of Iriga City to strengthen the agricultural sector and support rice farmers in improving productivity and sustainability.
