Shooting Incident
Shooting incident transpired at Purok Mabini, Brgy Sta. Maria, Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay at 6:00 AM of January 30, 2020. The victim was identified as Ronald Cahoyla Matalote, 36 years old, single and a resident of Brgy Payongan, Alicia, who was shot to death by unidentified suspect/s. Initial investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, the victim is sleeping at the balcony of the house of his friend identified as William Arano Carbon Jr when suddenly unidentified suspect appeared and shot the victim hitting on his head and back with the use of Cal .45 pistol. He sustained two gunshot wounds that resulted to his instantaneous death. Recovered from the scene were two (2) empty shells of Cal .45 pistol. He was declared dead by Brgy Health Representative Mrs. Jocelyn Mapalo of Brgy Sta. Maria, Alicia and was turn over to his family. Motive of the incident is believed to be personal grudge. Elements of Alicia MPS conducted thorough investigation for the identification and arrest of the perpetrator/s.
Shooting Incident
Shooting incident transpired at Brgy Sta. Barbara, Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay at 10:00 AM of January 30, 2020. The victim was identified as Alexander D Mayol, 49 years old, single, vendor and a resident of Brgy Del Monte Buug, who was shot and wounded by unidentified motorcycle riding suspects. Initial investigation disclosed that prior to the incident; the victim was driving his single motorcycle coming from Diplahan going to Imelda, and upon reaching at the place of incident, suddenly the suspects on board a single motorcycle described as rouser color black came from behind and without any reason shot the victim hitting on his left chest. Further investigation revealed that the gun man disembarked the said motorcycle to verify if the victim was already dead, however victim managed to run and asked for help. The victim was rushed to Lanceta Medical Hospital for treatment while the suspect driver wearing black jacket and fatigue pants and the gun man fled towards unknown direction. Motive of the incident is yet to be determined. Police elements of Imelda MPS are now currently conducting hot pursuit operations for arrest of the perpetrators. Meanwhile, the Imelda MPS said that the suspect was Christ Cacis, of legal age, male, single and a resident of Sta Maria, Alicia based on the testimony of the witnesses. Accordingly, the suspect and the victim had a fist fight at about 6:00 PM of January 22, 2021 at Brgy Taloptap, Alicia and after the said incident; suspect was soliciting to purchase a handgun and went on looking for the victim. Three (3) days after when the suspect was last seen then the incident occurred. The cadaver of the victim presently lied and rested at their residence at Barangay Payongan, Alicia. Hot pursuit operation against the suspect is now being conducted by elements of Alicia MPS for the arrest of the suspect.
Hacking Incident
Hacking incident transpired at Purok Makuguihon, Dalangin, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay at 4:05 PM of January 30, 2021, wherein victim was identified as Lorenzo Villaispin Toquiro,(father-in-law), 55 years old, married, farmer while suspect was identified as Jemwel Cañete Latigo, 40 years old, married, jobless, both residents of said place. Initial investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, the suspect who was armed with scythe (sanggot) went to the house of the victim and confronted him asking the where about of his wife. Thereafter, the victim went out of his house who was also armed with an air gun and shot the suspect once hitting on his face and fell on the ground. However, the suspect managed to draw his scythe and hacked the victim several times hitting on his neck and different parts of his body. The suspect fled on foot heading towards mountainous area of Brgy. Dalangin, Titay while the victim was brought to Dr. Sibud County Hospital for treatment. Titay MPS still conducting hot pursuit operations for arrest of the suspect.
Stabbing Incident
Stabbing incident transpired at Purok Dumagok, Brgy Malungon, Malangas, Zamboanga Sibugay at 7:00 PM of January 30, 2021. The victim was identified as Dexter Plad Baud, 28 years old, single, unemployed, was stabbed to death by the suspect identified as Raymond Capa Dichu-Acido, 21 years old, single, fishpond caretaker, both residents of Purok Dumagok, Brgy Malungon, Malangas. Initial investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, the victim and suspect has misunderstanding regarding their AKRHO fraternity wherein at about 7:00 PM of January 30, 2021, the victim went home and the suspect followed him and treacherously stabbed several times hitting the back of the victim. He sustained multiple hacked wounds that resulted to his instantaneous death. Immediately, personnel of Malangas MPS together with the barangay officials conducted hot pursuit operations that resulted to arrest the suspect and confiscation of a knife believed to be the weapon use during the incident. The cadaver was brought to Malangas Hospital for post mortem examination while the suspect was detained at Malangas MPS for proper disposition.
P81,600.00 Worth of Shabu Yield from Female Drug Dealer in Zamboanga City
Police operatives of Zamboanga City Police Station 9 led by PMAJ Orlyn Pardillo Leyte conducted a buy-bust operation on Illegal Drugs at Darussalam, Purok-4, Barangay Recodo, Zamboanga City at 11:50 AM of January 30, 2021. The operation resulted to the arrest of Tawasil Arnado y Biri, 18 years old, male, single, high school level, factory worker at Aquatic Company and resident of Purok-7B, Brgy Recodo, Zamboanga City. (Newly Identified) Recovered from his possession were One (1) lux jewelry box color violet, Thirteen (13) heat sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated DDB value of P81,600.00 weighing more or less 12 grams and One (1) bill of Php 200.00 as marked money. He is now under the custody of said police station in preparation of filing of appropriate charges in court.
Criminal Gang Killed in Service of Warrant of Arrest in Kumalarang
Combined operatives of Kumalarang Municipal Police Station, 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office – Intel Unit and Malangas Municipal Police Station conducted joint Intel driven operation thru service of warrant of arrest against remnants of the notorious Jay-R Palada Criminal Gang (CG) led by Esmael Sanday @ Boy Negro in Barangay Boyugan West, Kumalarang Zamboanga del Sur at 7:45 AM January 30, 2021. The operation resulted in a firefight between the operating troops and the criminal gang members wherein one of its members identified as Amaroddin A Cahal, male, of legal age was killed during the operation. Cahal has a pending case in court with I.S No. INV-20K-00587 for Murder and IS number IX-09-INV-20H-00399 for Frustrated Murder. Moreover, he is a remnant of Jay-R Palada Group of Sibugay Province. The group was involved in illegal drug trade, extortion and gun for hire activities. Recovered from the suspect was one (1) unit M1 Garand riffle with four (4) clips live ammunition. The SOCO team processed the crime scene.
