₱9,000,000.00 Worth of Smuggled Cigarettes Seized in the High Seas of Recodo
Joint elements of 2nd Zamboanga City Mobile Force Company together with personnel of Bureau of Customs, Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS), Enforcement and Security Service (ESS) conducted seaborne patrol at High seas of Barangay Recodo, Zamboanga City at about 9:00 a.m. of May 23, 2021. They were able to intercept one blue/grey MV “Airborne Nurfalin” motorized wooden watercraft “Jungkong” bound for Barangay Maasin, Zamboanga City. The watercraft was loaded with two hundred sixty (260) master cases of cigarettes with an estimated value of ₱ 9,100,000.00 which include twenty-two (22) cases of San Marino, eleven (11) cases of Bravo, one hundred forty-two (142) cases of Fort, ten (10) cases of Cannon, forty-nine (49) case of Bros and twenty-six (26) cases of Astro. The watercraft was boarded by six (6) crew members namely; Tatung Indanan, 31 years old, male, Bin J Sali, 31 years old, male, Ibno Papung, 40 years old, male, Najib Hadjirul, 18 years old, male, Hadilon Amsani, 50 years old, male and Judimar Pulalon, 28 years old, male, all natives of Jolo, Sulu. Said subjects failed to present any legal documents and were properly turned over to Bureau of Customs for proper disposition along with the “Jungkong” and smuggled cigarettes.
Top 1 Most Wanted Person of Mandaue City, Arrested in Aurora
Joint PNP personnel of Aurora Municipal Police Station together with Zamboanga Del Sur 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, Mandaue City Police Station 3 and Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Intelligence Unit conducted law enforcement operation through service of warrant of arrest at Purok Sto. Niño, Libertad, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur at about 11:00 a.m. of May 23, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Joey Zapatos Opo a.k.a. “Joey“, male, 33 years old, farmer, and a resident of Purok Sto. Niño, Libertad, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur. He was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest for the crime of Robbery with Rape, docketed under Criminal Case No. DU-30024, issued by Hon. Soliver C. Peras, Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court, 7th Judicial Region, Branch 10, Cebu City with no bail bond. Subject person was brought to Aurora Municipal Police Station and to be turned over to personnel of Mandaue City Police Station for proper disposition.

PNP personnel of Vincenzo Sagun Municipal Police Station (MPS) conducted law enforcement operation through service of warrant of arrest at Jayna St. Camarin, Barangay 175, Caloocan City 9:30 a.m. of May 23, 2021. The operation resulted to the arrest of Wilmart Alodo Siñerez, 22 years old, male, single, helper, and a resident of 344 Jayna St., Pag-asa, Camarin, Barangay 175, Caloocan City. He was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest for the crime of Rape, docketed under Criminal Case No. 16-086 dated August 15, 2016 with no bail bond; and for the crime of Act of Lasciviousness, docketed under Criminal Case Number 16-087 dated March 15, 2018 with recommended bail bond fixed at ₱ 12,000.00. He was brought to Caloocan City Police Station for documentation and to be turned over to Vincenzo Sagun MPS for proper disposition.
Top 7 Most Wanted Person of Sominot, Arrested in Lanao del Norte
PNP personnel of Sominot Municipal Police Station conducted law enforcement operation through service of warrant of arrest at Purok 1, Taguitic, Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte at about 4:00 a.m. of March 24, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Carlito Bulawon Murcia a.k.a. “Tagalog”, 46 years old, married, male, farmer, and a resident of Purok 1, Taguitic, Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte. He was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest for the crime of Murder, docketed under Criminal Case No. 20-10, 1798 issued by Hon. Judge Analyn F. Ramas – Costanilla, Presiding Judge, RTC, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 30, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur on November 26, 2020 with no bail bond. He is now temporarily detained at Sominot Municipal Police Station facility while waiting for commitment order from the court.
One Dead in a Landslide Incident in Salaan, Zamboanga City
A landslide incident transpired at Sitio San Antonio, Barangay Salaan, Zamboanga City at 1:04 p.m. of May 23, 2021. Investigation disclosed that at about 12:40 p.m. of same date, backhoe operator Melvin Cabayacruz Indico, 40 years old, male, married, resident of Zone 2, Sitio San Antonio, Salaan, Zamboanga City was operating a backhoe Hitachi Brand during a quarrying operated by Mr. Jaiton Moharani when suddenly, a landslide occurred from the portion of the mountain and debris fell directly to the said backhoe trapping the victim which later resulted to his death. Victim was retrieved at about 2:46 p.m. of same date by the rescuing personnel and the cadaver was turned over to his immediate family.
Hacking Incident
A hacking incident transpired at Purok B, Barangay Salipyasin, Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay at 9:20 p.m. of May 23, 2021. Victims were identified as Janeth Fabian Alborte, 42 years old, female, live in partner of the suspect, and Armand Alex Simbahon Custodio, 31 years old, male, single, both are residents of Purok B, Barangay Salipyasin, resident of Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay while suspect was identified as Noel Gallardes Nicolas, 57 years old, male, also a resident of the abovementioned place. Initial investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, both victims and suspect were having a drinking spree when a heated argument ensued. This prompted the suspect to hack the victims using a bolo. Both victims sustained hacked wounds on their arms and hand and were immediately rushed to Pathfinder Estate Hospital for treatment. Recovered from the crime scene is a bolo with traces of blood. Arrested suspect and recovered evidence were brought to Kabasalan Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
Stabbing Incident
A stabbing incident transpired at about 4:30 p.m. of May 23, 2021 at Purok 1, Nilo, Tigbao, Zamboanga del Sur. Victim was identified as Rudy Lusay Lumambong, 53 years old, male, married, farmer, and a resident of Purok 1, Nilo, Tigbao, Zamboanga del Sur while suspect was identified as Anecito Gemina Conol, 41 years old, married, male, farmer, and a resident of Purok 1, Nilo, Tigbao Zamboanga del Sur. Investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, victim and suspect were having a drinking spree at the store owned by Rico Gemina. On the course of their drinking spree, the suspect went to his house and took a kitchen knife and upon returning to said store, the suspect suddenly stabbed the victim several times on the different parts of his body that resulted to his instantaneous death. The suspect immediately fled to neighboring barangays carrying the kitchen knife, but at about 6:10 p.m. of same date, responding team received a report that the suspect voluntarily surrendered to a certain Tata Verano, legal age and a resident of Maragang, Tigbao Municipality. The suspect was then subsequently turned over to the responding personnel of Tigbao Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
Carpenter Arrested in Drug Buy-Bust Operation in Siocon
Municipal Drug Enforcement Team of Siocon Municipal Police Station together with 905th Maneuver Company and Zamboanga del Norte 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company conducted joint drug buy-bust operation at Barangay S. Arabi, Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte at about 1:30 p.m. of May 23, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Jaime Bagalanon Madrangca, “a.k.a, Bobong”, 56 years old, male, separated, carpenter, and a resident of the said place. Confiscated during the operation were one (1) small plastic sachet of suspected Shabu (buy bust item), four (4) small heated sealed plastic of suspected Shabu (possession item), one (1) piece five hundred (₱ 500.00) peso bill as buy bust money, five (5) pieces peso bill in different denomination worth of four hundred seventy pesos (₱ 470.00), one (1) piece lighter, three (3) pieces aluminum thin foil, one (1) unit Samsung cellular phone, one (1) piece battery of Samsung cellular phone, one (1) piece of newspaper as wrapper. Estimated weight of confiscated shabu is 1 gram amounting to ₱ 6, 500.00. Confiscated items were brought to Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Crime Laboratory for examination.
Farmer Arrested in Drug Buy-Bust Operation in Payao
Police operatives of Kalawit Municipal Police Station (MPS) conducted drug buy-bust operation at Barangay Kulasian, Payao, Zamboanga Sibugay at 4:30 p.m. of May 23, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Webfren Pontillas Antiquina , 29 years old, single, farmer and a resident of the said place. Confiscated items during the operation were one (1) small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected Shabu (buy-bust evidence), one (1) piece ₱ 500 bill as marked money, six (6) pieces transparent plastic sachets of suspected Shabu (possession), Php 126.00 in different denomination as proceeds money, one (1) piece black wallet, one (1) piece Barangay Identification Card, Palawan and M Lhuillier receipts and one (1) unit black/red Euro motorcycle. All confiscated illegal drugs has an estimated weight of 0.7 grams with an estimated street value of ₱ 4,550. Arrested person was brought to Kalawit MPS as well as the confiscated items for temporary custody and for filing of appropriate charges in court.
Man Arrested in Drug Buy-Bust Operation in Naga
Elements of Naga Municipal Police Station conducted drug buy-bust operation at Purok 1b, Barangay Tambanan, Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay at 6:35 p.m. of May 23, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Roger Benaro Sumi-Og, male, 41 years old, high school level, habal-habal driver and a resident of Purok 4, Barangay Taytay Manubo, Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay. Confiscated items during the operation were: one (1) piece small transparent plastic sachet and three (3) pieces small transparent plastic sachets of suspected Shabu with estimated weight of 0.7 grams and estimated value of ₱ 4, 700.00, one (1) piece ₱ 500.00 peso bill (marked money), one (1) small blue pouch and assorted aluminum foil. Arrested person and confiscated items were brought to the said police station for proper disposition.
4 Drug Suspects Arrested in Drug Buy-Bust Operations in Zamboanga City
₱ 72,200.00 worth of Shabu seized from 4 drug suspects in separate drug buy-bust operations conducted by police stations under Zamboanga City Police Office on May 23-24, 2021.
Habil Sabdani y Satim a.k.a. “Habil”, 22 years old, male, single, elementary level, jobless and resident of Campung Landang, Barangay Arena Blanco, Zamboanga City was arrested by Station Drug Enforcement Team of Zamboanga City Police Station 6 and 904th Maneuver Company in an anti-illegal drugs operation at Campong Landang, Barangay Arena Blanco, Zamboanga City at 12:32 p.m. of May 23, 2021. Recovered from his possession were Seven (7) sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated value of ₱ 2,600.00 weighing 0.38 gram and two (2) bills of ₱ 100.00 as marked money. He is now under the custody of the said police station in preparation of filing of appropriate charges in court. All recovered items will be brought to Zamboanga City Crime Laboratory Office for examination.
Joana Daplas y Benlot, a.k.a. “Joan”, 40 years old, female, separated, college level, unemployed, and Jomar Daplas y Benlot, 31 years old, male, single, college level, unemployed, both residents of George Drive, Barangay Guiwan, Zamboanga City were arrested by Station Drug Enforcement Team of Zamboanga City Police Station 11 in a drug buy-bust operation at Old Highway, Barangay Guiwan, Zamboanga City at 8:30 p.m. of May 23, 2021. Recovered from their possession were one (1) coin purse, sixteen (16) heat sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected Shabu with an estimated value of ₱ 61,000.00 weighing 8.97 gram and three (3) bills of ₱ 100.00 as marked money. They are now under the custody of the said police station in preparation of filing of appropriate charges in court. All recovered items will be brought to Zamboanga City Crime Laboratory Office for examination.
Raul Candido y Dela Cruz a.k.a “Ung”, 40 years old, male, single, high school graduate, jobless, and a resident of Barangay Sta. Catalina, Zamboanga City were arrested by Station Drug Enforcement Team of Zamboanga City Police Station 5 in a drug buy-bust operation at Bucoy Drive, Barangay Guiwan, Zamboanga City at 12:30 a.m. of May 24, 2021. Recovered during the operation were eleven (11) heat sealed plastic sachets of suspected Shabu with an estimated value of ₱ 8,600.00 weighing 1.26 gram, one (1) empty cigarette pack and two (2) bills of ₱ 100.00 as marked money. They are now under the custody of the said police station in preparation of filing of appropriate charges in court. All recovered items will be brought to Zamboanga City Crime Laboratory Office for examination.
