Carnapping Suspect Arrested in Recodo
PNP personnel of Zamboanga City Police Station 11 conducted law enforcement operation through service of warrant of arrest at Barangay Zone I, Zamboanga City at 9:50 a.m. of May 20, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Jabir Hamid y Arasani, 40 years old, male, married and a resident of Barangay Recodo, Zamboanga City. He was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest for R.A. 6539 (Carnapping Act of 1972) with criminal case NO# 27552 issued by Presiding Judge Hon Danilo M. Bucoy, Branch 17, RTC, 9th Judicial Region, Zamboanga City dated June 2, 2014 with bail bond recommended amounting to ₱ 180, 000.00.
Shooting Incident
A shooting incident transpired at Sitio Sapa Manok, Barangay Curuan, Zamboanga City at 8:30 p.m. of May 20, 2021. Victim was identified as Jovin Johnson Angeles De Leon, 41 years old, male, married, construction worker, resident of Sitio Gasang, Barangay Curuan, Zamboanga City. He was found lying on the ground beside his single motorcycle Sky Go 150 with no plate number. Victim sustained visible gunshot wounds on his chest. Recovered from the crime scene were seven (7) empty shells and one (1) slug of believed to be 9mm. The cadaver was brought to Cristino Paragas Memorial Hospital, Barangay Quiniput, Zamboanga City for post mortem examination while his motorcycle was brought to Zamboanga City Police Station 2. Motive of the incident is still to be identified. Thorough investigation and follow up operation are being conducted by the said police station for the possible arrest of the suspect/s.
Shooting Incident
A shooting incident transpired at Purok Peñarose, Barangay Poblacion, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay at 9:35 p.m. of May 20, 2021. Victim was identified as Dande Carbon Calago, 27 years old, businessman and a resident of Purok Peñarose, Barangay Poblacion, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay while suspect were two (2) unidentified persons. Initial investigation revealed that prior to the incident, the victim together with his two (2) children were walking on their way home when two (2) unidentified suspects (riding in tandem) on board an unidentified motorcycle shot the victim on his left leg. As a result, victim sustained gunshot wound on his left leg and abrasion on the different parts of his body and was rushed to Dr. Sibud County Hospital for medication while his two (2) children were unharmed. Suspects fled towards Mabuhay and Barangay Azusena. Recovered from the crime scene were three (3) empty shells and one (1) live ammunition. Titay Municipal Police Station is still conducting hot-pursuit operation for the arrest of the suspects.
