Police Regional Office 9 Celebrates The 26th Police Community Relations Month

Camp Col. Romeo A. Abendan, Mercedes, Zamboanga City – PNP Police Regional Office 9 held the Kick-off Ceremony for the 26th Police Community Relations Month with the theme: “Pulisya at Pamayanan, BARANGAYanihan sa Hamon ng Pandemya at Laban sa Krimen”.

Dra. Maria Carla A. Ochotorena, President, Western Mindanao State University was the Guest of Honor and Speaker for the said event. During her speech, Dr. Ochotorena shared the importance of Community Policing, how it encourages the PNP to be part of the neighborhood, how it builds trust and cooperation between the PNP and the community, and how the community, through Community Policing, appreciates the effort of the PNP organization in serving the people.

Dr. Otchotorena also expressed her appreciation on the BARANGAYanihan, a program of the PNP dedicated in giving food packs, medical and school kits to the community, wherein the program lends a hand to the community members during this time of pandemic.

During the event, deserving PNP personnel were also given awards for their exemplary performance and devotion to duty.

PLTCOL. CHARISSE B YABO, was awarded for being the team supervisor for the ZNPPO during the Sining Bayanihan and Karagatanghalan 2021, wherein ZNPPO bagged majority of the awards in different categories of the competition.

PMAJ. JEROME T. PAMALARAN, for the arrest of the top 7 Most Wanted Person of Labangan Municipal Police Station.

PMAJ. VINCENT M. VIRTUDAZO, for the arrest of top 1 and top 2 Most Wanted Person of Katipunan Municipal Police Station.

PLT. MARLENE A. GALVEZ, PIO of ZSBPPO, as the anchor of a radio program thru Infinite Radio that provided an avenue for dissemination of information, crime prevention tips and programs of ZSBPPO.

PCMS Henry U. Dae, for conducting house to house distribution of food packs to the families affected by pandemic living in coastal areas of Isabela City, Basilan.

PMSg. Mylette R. Ansaldo, for being the host of Zamboanga City Police Office’s radio program dubbed as “Police Hour” thru Radio Mindanao Network (RMN).

Pat Chalyn Felix, for posting on her Facebook account regarding a child who needed anal surgery due to absence of anal orifice which caught the attention of kind-hearted people to her aid.
