Police General Debold M. Sinas, Chief PNP Visited PRO9

Camp Col. Romeo A. Abendan, Zamboanga City – The Chief of the Philippine National Police, PNP Police General Debold M Sinas and party made their first command visit to the Police Regional Office 9 (PRO9), a police office where the CPNP once served as the Chief Of Regional Staff and Deputy Regional Director for Operations.

Among the senior officers who accompanied PGEN. Sinas in the command visit were PMGEN. Israel Ephraim T. Dickson, The Director for Personnel and Records Management; PMGEN. Amando Clifton B. Empiso, The Director for Intelligence; PMGEN. Emmanuel Luis D. Licup, The Director for Comptroller and PMGEN. Angelito A. Casimiro, The Director for Logistics.

The Chief PNP and party led the Inauguration, Ribbon Cutting and Unveiling of Marker of Area Police Command – Western Mindanao Headquarters at Brgy. Balintawak, Pagadian City, Zamboanga City on December 19, 2020 at 11:50 in the morning. Among the personalities present were Victor J Yu, Provincial Governor and Hon. Divina Grace C Yu, Congresswoman 1st District and PMGEN. Jose Chiquito M. Malayo, Director, Area Police Command – Western Mindanao.

Upon his return to the PRO9 Headquarters, a police office where he left with the rank of a colonel and returns with the rank of four -star general, the Chief was given the traditional arrival honors ceremony performed by the selected personnel as he welcome by the men and women of PRO9 headed by newly installed regional director PBGEN. Ronaldo Genaro E. Ylagan and his command group.

Shortly after, the 25th Chief of Philippine National Police formally installed Police Brigadier Gen. Ronaldo Genaro E Ylagan as the new regional director of the Police Regional Office 9 in an Assumption of Command Ceremony held at PRO9 Multi-Purpose Hall, Camp Col. Romeo A. Abendan, Mercedes, Zamboanga City on December 19, 2020 at 3:30 PM.

In his talk to men ceremony, PGEN. Sinas called the men and women of PRO9 support his program thrusts which are to fight against illegal drugs, corruption, terrorism, insurgency and illegal gambling. He also reminded all the Provincial Directors/City Directors including all unit commanders of the “No Take Policy” campaign of the PNP.

The Chief, PNP also pinned the decorated “Medalya ng Kagalingan” PNP merit medals to the deserving personnel who have shown outstanding performance in accomplishing their duties and responsibilities. Among the awardees were: PLTCOL. Jeremias Ogayon and PMAJ. Ludovico Ellazar of CIDG, cited for the arrest of 4 ASG members and confiscation of IEDs paraphernalia in the conduct of search warrant in Jolo, Sulu on October 10, 2020; PMAJ. Elmer P Solon and PSSg. Jeric Ambrona of Zamboanga City Police Station 11, cited for the drug personality and confiscation of ₱ 3.4 million worth of Shabu in Talon-Talon, Zamboanga City on October 27, 2020; PMAJ. Al-Rieza Kinang of PNP-IG and PMAJ. Rodel Silaran of 4th Special Action Battalion-SAF, cited for neutralization of Criminal Gang member linked with the ASG; PMAJ Eric Lee Humpa and PCpl. Bernardo Gomonti of Ipil Municipal Police Station, cited for the arrest of big time drug pusher in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay; PLT Ariel F Jolatoria of 1st Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company, cited for the recovery of several firearms on December 1, 2020 and PSSg. Dennis Berjama of 2nd Zamboanga de Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company, accorded with the PNP Sugatang Magiting Medals for wounding in the police operation in Liloy, Zamboanga del on November 18, 2020 which led to the neutralization of 2 criminal gang members.

The Chief PNP along with PMGEN. Casimiro, PBGEN. Ylagan and Mayor Beng Climaco led the turnover of PNP tactical watercrafts to the Zamboanga City Police Office to be utilized for preventive patrols and anti-criminality operations along the coastal water of Zamboanga City.
