A total of 16,907 additional Covid-19 cases were logged by the Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 2, 470,175.

For two consecutive days, no deaths were reported due to technical issues in COVIDKaya.

“The Department of Information and Communications Technology is currently addressing issues encountered by the system. When the issue is resolved, the succeeding increase in deaths in the following reports will be due to the previous days’ backlogs,” the DOH.

There were 27,120 recoveries recorded.

Of the total number of infections, 6.7 percent (165,092) are active cases, 91.8 percent (2,267,678) have recovered, and 1.51 percent (37,405) have died.

Sixty duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 41 are recoveries.

All labs were operational on September 23, 2021 but 4 labs were not able to submit their data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System.

Based on data in the last 14 days, the 4 non-reporting labs contribute, on average, 0.7 percent of samples tested and 0.8 percent of positive individuals.
