PHL posts 2nd highest daily Covid-19 cases with 23,134

The Philippines posted its second-highest daily number of Covid-19 cases on Saturday after 23,134 additional cases were logged by the Department of Health (DOH), bringing the total number of infections to 2,374,550.

There were also 27,024 recoveries and 255 deaths.

Of the total number of infections, 7.8 percent (184,088) are active cases, 90.6 percent (2,126,879) have recovered, and 1.56 percent (36,583) have died.

There were 59 duplicates removed from the total case count. Of these, 41 are recoveries.

Moreover, 143 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.

All laboratories were operational on September 16, 2021 but 2 labs were not able to submit their data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System.

Based on data in the last 14 days, the 2 non-reporting labs contribute, on average, 0.3 percent of samples tested and 0.5 percent of positive individuals.
